पालखी ज्या गावावरून पंढरपूरला जाते त्या गावांची नावे सुद्धा अत्यंत अर्थपूर्ण आहेत. आळंदी -   पालखी आळंदीतून  निघते. आळंदी म्हणजे आत्मानंद. पालखीचा प्रारंभ आत्मानंदातून होतो.  पुणे -   पालखी पुण्यात येते. पालखीबरोबर निघालो की जन्मजन्मांतरीची पापे नष्ट होऊन पुण्य प्राप्त होते.
